I heart Twinkie Chan! She’s simply fabulous!

I just found artist Twinkie Chan and she is too cool!  She is adorable and colorful and fun.  I like how she has taken something like crocheting that may seem dated and antiquated and made it so upbeat and current.  Her crocheting is not your Mama’s crocheting!

Twinkie Chan is a San Francisco based crochet designer who creates fun, food-themed accessories. Her unique work has been featured online, in print, on television, and in art shows.  Her book, “Twinkie Chan’s Crochet Goodies for Fashion Foodies: 20 Yummy Treats To Wear” is available on Amazon.  She also has an Etsy shop.

Twinkie’s latest project is her clothing and accessories line “Yummy You! by Twinkie Chan” which she launched to make her signature pieces more accessible and affordable.  Good luck Twinkie!

I don’t often give fashion advice because fashion is not my strength. I have my style and I like it but sometimes it doesn’t work. But that doesn’t mean I can’t share a fashion tip, right?

So here it is: Instead of choosing an outfit and then accessorizing. Start with one item, preferably one with a distinctive flavor and build the outfit around it.

I have a wide pink bracelet that I love. I got it at the Los Angeles gift shop of the French hotel chain, Sofitel. I wore black and white to show off the pink and I liked it.

Choosing an outfit this way seems more creative and inspiring. Doesn’t it?
